Creating new spaces for student athletes requires extensive coordination, collaboration, and a commitment to an aggressive schedule. The Beaver Dam High School Site Improvements project transformed the school’s athletic facilities through the construction of new baseball, softball, and football practice fields.
PROJECT DETAILS
The project brought together a wide range of site and infrastructure improvements to support Beaver Dam High School’s new and upgraded athletic facilities. Work included:
- Site earthwork for a new natural grass baseball field
- Site earthwork and underdrain installation for a synthetic turf varsity softball field
- Site earthwork for three natural grass practice football fields
- Storm sewer infrastructure throughout the site
- Concrete walkways, curb and gutter, batting cages, and the varsity softball field turf nailer board
The biggest challenge, however, was time. Permitting delays pushed back the project start, creating a compressed and aggressive schedule for every trade on site. With multiple contractors working under separate contracts, careful coordination became critical.
Northeast Asphalt stepped into a leadership role, helping coordinate schedules and sequencing between contractors to keep work moving and minimize conflicts. Through proactive planning and close collaboration among Northeast Asphalt, Parisi, and Payne + Dolan, the team successfully completed the project’s major components within the shortened construction window.
Final surface asphalt and landscaping will put the finishing touches on the project this spring, completing high-quality athletic facilities built to serve Beaver Dam High School student-athletes for years to come.
