Sussex Asphalt Plant Solar

Zenith Tech managed the ground mounted 386kW, fixed-tilt solar field installation at Payne + Dolan’s K&N asphalt plant. The project began in May 2023 and is scheduled for completion in November 2023. This behind the meter project will offset a portion of the energy generated and utility costs associated with plant and aggregate operations.

PROJECT DETAILS

• The Solar Field is comprised of (858) 450-Watt Modules and is installed on a south-facing, manmade berm to maximize efficiency and minimize public view.
• Energy generated is collected through (3) 100kVA inverters and sent back over 1,000 feet via underground cables to the main service. The return on investment for the project is approximately 10 years.
• Payne + Dolan’s engineering team selected the ground mounted solar field location to avoid and minimize negative environmental impacts.
• Zenith Tech managed the project and self-performed the 95 driven piles to support the racking.
