Milwaukee Recreation's Green Bay Playfield Renovation

In 2014, Milwaukee Recreation, a department of Milwaukee Public Schools, reviewed all existing facilities and developed a roadmap to upgrade 52 playfields and fieldhouses throughout Milwaukee. With input from the local community, three designs were developed and presented for the Green Bay Playfield, with the Rings & Ripples design winning. Construction began in June 2021 and was completed in August 2022. The new playfield includes new basketball and tennis courts, a splash pad, playground equipment, a seating area, and green space.

PROJECT DETAILS

• Payne + Dolan's (P+D) general contracting division provided construction management services and coordinated the activities of (16) subcontract partners, providing plumbing, electrical, splash pad construction, new playground equipment, concrete, landscaping, and sport court installation
• Grading, removals, and excavation
• Hot mix asphalt (HMA) paving of parking lot, basketball, and tennis courts
