P&D, NEA, and ZTI Recognized by WisDOT for Excellence in Construction
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) awarded seven Excellence in Construction awards during the annual Contractor-Engineer Conference recently held in Madison. The Walbec Group was honored to receive three of the awards.
- Excellence in Asphalt Paving went to Northeast Asphalt, Inc. for their work on an eight-mile section of US 45 between Clintonville and Wittenberg in Shawano County. Exceptional quality was achieved on this project as was evident by the superior ride and excellent pavement densities. We also worked hard to limit the inconvenience to the community by maintaining traffic throughout the project.
- The Large Contract Award was awarded to Zenith Tech, Inc. for their work on the Lakefront Gateway in Milwaukee. The project provided a new connection to the Milwaukee lakefront via the reconstruction and realignment of the Lake Interchange, extension of Lincoln Memorial Drive, and reconstruction along Clybourn and Chicago streets. It was a complex project and ZTI was honored to partner with WIsDOT to make a positive impact in the community.
- Outstanding Airport Construction went to Payne & Dolan, Inc. for their work at the East Troy Municipal Airport in Walworth County. The P&D Team made improvements to the taxiway and aircraft parking apron and achieved exceptional quality control to improve surface drainage.
