By constructing a state-of-the-art boardwalk along Lake Minnetonka’s shoreline, we’ve helped create a dynamic space for the community while ensuring longevity and sustainability for years to come.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
- Installation of a 1,200-foot pedestrian boardwalk featuring precast concrete beams supported by 16” can piles driven into the lake bed.
- Utilized GPS technology to determine precise piling locations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency during installation.
- Developed and implemented unique pile templates to guarantee proper placement and alignment.
- Approximately 75% of the concrete beams from the water side are adapted to environmental conditions and minimize disruptions.
- When ice thickness increased, our team deployed a large hydro crane to set beams safely over railroad tracks, maintaining progress despite adverse conditions.
- Maintained open and transparent communication with the client to address quantity overruns and plan changes, ensuring all stakeholders were aligned throughout the project.
- Fostered positive interactions with residents, receiving overwhelmingly supportive feedback during and after the project.
