NEA Participates in the Green Bay Finding Your Inspiration Event
The Walbec Group enjoyed participating in the Finding Your Inspiration career exploration event developed by the Greater Green Bay Chamber Partners in Education. This event was developed in response to employers' need for future talent.
We take every opportunity to support events such as these that get our youth excited about the career opportunities awaiting them in our industry. Schools throughout Northeastern Wisconsin participated in this two-day event sending over 4,000 8th grade students. As you can see below, it was a great two days for everyone who participated - students and Walbec team members.
This event was also beneficial for teachers and counselors as they learned more about careers in our area and can identify connections to their curriculum and continue career education throughout the school year.
Throughout the two-day event, each of the students had the opportunity to attend our educational presentation. Here, Matt Matuszak, our Land Resources Manager for Northeast Asphalt, Inc., is teaching students about quarry activities.
Every great event must be captured in photos and the students had a blast dressing in construction gear and smiling for photos in our photo booth!
This year, this event also included a Community Preview Night. We look forward to participating again next year!
