Walbec Hosts Smart Girls Rock Event

#TeamWalbec couldn't think of a better initiative to engage in when approached by the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce to host the 2022 Smart Girls Rock event. Our team is always looking for opportunities to inspire the next generation of women interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) careers. These future leaders will be vital to continuing the Walbec tradition of innovation, quality, safety, and community.

Unusually warm Wisconsin fall weather offered the perfect environment to welcome over 100 high school female students to our shop in Greenville, WI. These students eagerly participated in hands-on activities, from welding, 3D modeling, and crane operator simulation to robotics and no-bake asphalt cookies.

The day's activities also included lunch with Walbec young professionals who inspired the students with their personal stories to rewarding careers in STEM. The students also participated in speed mentoring with women in STEM-related professions.
