The Position:

Under the direction of the Scheduling Coordinators, the Trucking Operations Coordinator will assist with the timely and efficient use of hired trucks supporting production efforts, and other duties related to manufacturing and production.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Seasonal, full-time position: April 1st - November 30th
  • Daily scheduling of trucks and executing trucking matrix with Scheduling and Trucking Coordinators.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with Scheduling Coordinators, Manufacturing Dispatcher and Trucking Coordinator to ensure customer satisfaction regarding trucking availability and scheduling efficiency.
  • Assist in other facets of the scheduling team process to help make the operations more efficient.
  • Create more consistent daily, weekly work for all trucks (Construction and Manufacturing).
  • Perform truck dispatching and prepare waivers and vouchers.
  • Work with Scheduling Coordinators and Dispatchers to forecast trucking needs.
  • Assist with hired truck recruitment paperwork to ensure it is received and completed.
  • Coordinating aggregate hauls with manufacturing plant/site managers.
  • DBE trucking coordination, keeping track of commitments and spreadsheets.
  • Under the direction of the Flagger Manager, assist with Flagging personnel needs/schedule/hotels/reconcile P-card statements
  • Coordinate dumpsters and other onsite rentals for Manufacturing group (coordinating logistics with manufacturing groups portable setups).
  • Oversee GPS trucking using Ruckit software
  • Assist Scheduling Coordinators as directed.
  • Assist Operations team and Operations Manager with administrative needs as directed.

* There may be some weekend hours possible depending on workload, work schedules and other seasonal requirements. Some intermittent night shift work may also be required.

The Candidate:

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent, Associate or Bachelor's level education related to logistics, dispatching or construction management methods is preferred
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
  • Advanced communication skills and the ability to interact in person and by other means with different personality types, positions and persons inside and outside the company.
  • Strong computer skills, especially with MS Office programs, and the ability to learn proprietary systems as well.
  • Ability to multi-task required
  • A good attitude and the ability to work with others, even under pressure, while remaining professional and always acting ethically.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience scheduling and training, preferably in a construction related environment
  • Prior experience working with dispatching or weigh scales
  • Knowledge of construction terms and a good understanding of Northeastern and Central Wisconsin geography.
