Zenith Tech Inc. is seeking an individual to manage our fabrication and manufacturing facility.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Vice President, theManufacturing and Fabrication Managerwill be responsible for the oversight and success of the manufacturing and fabrication shop.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Review wood and steel fabricating schedules in order to accurately predict staffing and scheduling needs, work procedures and duty assignments, while also considering budget and scheduling constraints.
  • Identify areas for improved efficiencies and cost saving opportunities for the department.
  • Maintain scheduling for steel welding repairs as well as any other contracts and coordinate and communicate that schedule with engineering staff as well as field construction managers in a timely manner. In addition, ensure that your team is held accountable to those communicated schedules and deadlines.
  • Understanding and preparing plan take-offs.
  • Oversee the purchasing of materials, consumable items and job materials.
  • Maintain proper inventory of lumber, fabricating materials, piling and scaffolding.
  • Mentor and supervise 15-25 shop personnel including foremen, fabricators, forklift drivers and seasonal workers.
  • Hire, mentor and assess staff overall work performance through performance reviews, raises and ongoing coaching and mentoring activities.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 10+ years of manufacturing or fabrication shop experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Several years' experience in a supervisory role.
  • Experience reading blueprints and plans, as well as strong math skills.
  • The ability to multi-task while remaining organized and on schedule.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communications skills within all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to motivate others through demonstrating a positive and productive attitude.
  • Valid Driver's License and considered insurable by insurance standards.
